Dear Ranger Rick

Ranger Rick, Feb, 2000

Last April we asked you to read our story about animal tails and tell us what kind of tail you'd like to have. Here are some of your tail tales.

"I would use a monkey tail to swing on trees and hold extra stuff. But it would be a pain because people might laugh at me."

Mary Penny

New York

"I think a beaver's tail would be nice because I like to play tag. I could warn the other players by slapping my tail."

Kailee Bynum, Washington

"Having a cat's tail wouldn't cause any problems except that my pajamas wouldn't fit."

Ariela Greenberg-Nielsen

New York

"I'd like a chameleon's tail. If I were making a treehouse, it would come in handy for hanging from the tree."

Ellen Ross, Pennsylvania

"I'd like a kangaroo's tail. When I go skateboarding, it could help me balance so I could do some really cool tricks!"

David Grometer, California

On pages 34 to 39, you can read a story about some really weird foods that animals eat. What's the weirdest thing you've ever eaten? Tell us at

We really like reading every letter. Too bad there's not room to print them all!
