Insects everywhere! - how to observe insects

Ranger Rick, May, 1997

Thousands of different kinds of insects get busy this time of year. Some of them, such as black flies and mosquitos, can drive you nuts with their bites. Others, such as ants and beetles, are fun to watch as they creep along the ground. What are they doing? Are they scrounging around for food? It's fun to go out to a natural spot and see what insects are up to.

(If the biters are bothersome, make sure to wear clothes that cover your skin.)
