Food & Drink Weekly, August 15, 2005

Jim Beam Brands Worldwide has announced the appointment of Ian Gourlay to head up its international operations and supply chain functions. As senior vice president, operations and supply chain, Gourlay will have overall responsibility for the company's production and plants around the world. The U.S.

wines and spirits company said the appointment of Gourlay, who was previously with Allied Domecq, has been made in response to the acquisition of several Allied brands by Jim Beam Brands' parent company, Fortune Brands, Inc., following Pernod Ricard's acquisition of Allied. Among those brands are Sauza tequila, Courvoisier Cognac, Canadian Club Canadian whisky, Laphroaig single malt Scotch whisky and Clos du Bois, Buena Vista, William Hill and Gary Farrell super-premium wines. The addition of those brands makes Jim Beam Brands the fourth largest wine and spirits company in the world. Before joining Allied, Gourlay worked for the UK brewer Bass in production, supply chain and commercial roles.
