Ahold announced the appointment of Alex Gibbons as Ahold's Chief Information Officer. Gibbons joins Ahold from Pillsbury/Diageo, where he was Chief Information Officer. He previously held senior IT leadership positions in Bristol-Myers Squibb and CBS, Inc. At Ahold, Gibbons will be responsible for the company's IT operations in the U.S.

and Europe. In that capacity he will advise the Ahold Corporate Executive Board and senior business executives on the strategic role and adoption of information technology throughout the organization.
