Richard Thompson, founder and former CEO of American Italian Pasta, has resigned from the company's board of directors. According to a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission, Thompson left the board on August 11, reported the Associated Press. The move came just days after the struggling pasta maker disclosed it was carrying out an internal investigation into its accounting practices and was facing questions from federal and state regulators.
