The UK High Court approved the $4.35-billion sale of Allied Domecq Plc's pubs to Punch Taverns. At the same time, the court stipulated that 75 percent of Allied shareholders must approve the deal, a condition that also applied to a bid from Punch's rival Whitbread Plc, which Whitbread withdrew earlier this month after it was referred to competition regulators.
