Molson Coors is to renew its sponsorship of the National Football League

Molson Coors is to renew its sponsorship of the National Football League (NFL). The Sports Business Journal, citing unidentified sources, reported that the brewer had signed a new five-year deal. NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy has confirmed the deal. Both of Molson Coor's major rivals Anheuser-Busch and Miller were thought to have been interested in the deal.

Coors' is the current sponsor of the NFL. The four-year deal was worth $240 million. It expires and the end of this season Similar to the existing sponsorship agreement, Coors will continue to use NFL trademarks including the NFL Shield and the Super Bowl logo in advertising and promotions. In addition, under the new agreement, the brewer will also enjoy greater access to and involvement with local NFL teams, and will benefit from enhanced television rights on NFL Network and broadcast media.
