Flowers Foods Inc. named George E. Deese president and chief executive officer, effective January 4, to replace Amos R. McMullian. McMullian will continue to serve as a non-executive chairman after retiring from his executive positions at the end of the year, however. Deese has been with the company since 1964 and is currently president and chief operating officer.
