Nestle

Food & Drink Weekly, Jan 24, 2005

Peter Brabeck-Letmathe, chief executive officer of Swiss food giant Nestle, is to take on the additional role of chairman of the company's board. Nestle announced in April last year that its chairman, Rainer E. Gut, is to step down at the company's annual shareholder meeting on April 14, having reached the mandatory retirement age.

Two vice-chairmen, Andreas Koopmann, a member of the board since 2003, and Rolf Hanggi, member of the board since 2004, will be elected, "in order to maintain the necessary checks and balances." With the exception of Brabeck, all board members are independent directors.
