Brazil's finance ministry approved the merger between the country's two main breweries, with the condition the new Cia de Bebidas das Americas (Am Bev), will have to sell its Skol beer brand and all factories used in producing the brand in four Brazilian states. The merger is between Cia. Cervejaria Brahma and Cia.

Antarctica Paulista and would give AmBev control over the beer market. The merger forms a company that will control more than 70 percent of the local beer market; making it the third largest brewer in the world. The two companies also hold around 25 percent of the soft drinks market.
