Wild Oats Markets, Inc., a leading national natural and organic foods retailer, announced Robert Miller has been elected to serve as non-executive Chairman of the Company's Board of Directors. Miller currently serves as non-executive Chairman of the Board of Rite Aid Corporation, one of the nation's leading drugstore chains.

Miller was also the Chief Executive Officer of Rite Aid from December 1999 until June 2003. Prior to that, he served as Vice Chairman and Chief Operating Officer of The Kroger Company. He joined Kroger in 1999 when the company acquired Fred Meyer, Inc., where he served as CEO since 1991. Miller started his food retail career at Albertson's Inc. where he spent 30 years in several senior management positions.
