> Douglas Daft, the chairman and chief executive of Coca-Cola, has announced that he is to retire by the end of the year, for personal reasons. Attention will now be focused on the impact of Daft's announcement on the company and the search for a successor. Daft said that Coca-Cola would be engaging an executive search company to assist in finding a successor and that any suitably qualified person would be considered alongside the front-running internal candidate, Steven Heyer, currently the group's president and chief operating officer.
