Rules aren't for breaking - The Fans Speak Out - Letter to the Editor

Auto Racing Digest, August-Sept, 2002 by Joseph Daudish

Scott Plagenhoef, please stand up and take a bow. Few motor sports writers would have dared to point out that by artificially extending the length of a race NASCAR is actually detrimentally affecting the better drivers ["NASCAR's Fickle Ruling Class," July 2002]. It's nice to have the events finish under the green flag, as many fans are loudly clamoring for--but it's even better to have legitimate contests where the true winners are crowned the champions.
