1. The five catchers to hit 40 or more home runs and catch 100 or more games in the same season include Roy Campanella, Johnny Bench, Mike Piazza, Todd Hundley and Javy Lopez.

2. Walter Johnson is the only pitcher since 1900 to win 20 games and hit .400 in the same season when he posted a 20-7 won-lost record and hit .433 (42-for-97) for the Washington Senators in 1925.

3. Besides Gavvy Cravath and Bill Werber, Albert Belle is the only other player to hit four doubles in one game twice during his career. Belle accomplished the feat in the same season when he clubbed four doubles on August 29 and September 23, 1999 for the Orioles.

7. Greg Maddux never won a Silver Slugger award. Dwight Gooden captured the honor in 1992 with the Mets, Fernando Valenzuela won it with the Dodgers in 1981 and 1983, while Carlos Zambrano earned the trophy with the Cubs in 2006.

8. In 2000, Cristian Guzman of the Twins led the majors with 20 triples, but hit only .247, the lowest mark among any major league player to accumulate 20 or more triples in a season.

9. Besides Eric Gagne, Mariano Rivera is the only other closer to record 50 or more saves in a season twice in his career. Gague did it with the Dodgers in 2002 (52) and 2003 (55) while Rivera did it with the Yankees 2001 (50) and 2004 (53).

10. The three Baltimore Orioles shortstops to win a Gold Glove award are Luis Aparicio (1964, 1966), Mark Belanger (1969, 1971, 1973-1978) and Cal Ripken, Jr. (1991, 1992).
