ONLY THREE PITCHERS HAVE HAD A 20-WIN AND A 40-SAVE SEASON DURING THEIR CAREERS. JONN SMOLTZ OF THE Braves and Derek Lowe of the Red Sox both joined Dennis Eckersley in this exclusive club in 2002. Eckersley won 20 games in 1978 and posted four 40-save seasons. Smoltz was a 24-game winner in 1996 and saved 40-plus games three times.
