Bowling Digest, June, 2000
IF YOU WANT TO BE "EYE-DOLIZED" on the lanes, Ebonite's latest Fun Ball will make you an instant "eye-con." The new Eye Ball, available only in bowling pro shops, is sure to appeal to the bowler with a fun attitude about the game and an irreverent look on life. "New bowlers--and those returning to the game after years of being away--are looking for ways to enliven their involvement in the sport," says Ebonite marketing vice president Bob Reid. "Just as phones are no longer black, bowling balls can be an expression of individuality in what many consider to be a very hip form of recreation."

The steady, straight line of Ebonite's Fun Balls make them the ideal spare ball for picking up the 10-pin or converting makable splits. The ball has a hardness rating of 82-84D, an RG rating of 6.39, and is best suited for extremely dry lane conditions. Only 6,600 balls are being produced, in weights from 12 to 16 pounds.
The Eye Ball is designed to turn heads going down the lane, and for the way-cool, black-light conditions of cosmic bowling. It is white with a large, bloodshot eyeball. "There's a new generation of bowlers who want more than just performance and technology," Reid says. "Bowling is fun, and our new ball says, `Eye am somebody.'"
