Nuline Makes History by Throwing Down the Gauntlet - new bowling ball technology - Brief Article

Bowling Digest, August, 2000

NULINE, THE SAN ANTONIO-BASED bowling ball maker that made history by introducing the first reactive ball to the market, has unveiled its newest creation. The new ball, called the Gauntlet, starts a new chapter in cover stock, providing a high-performance ball at an affordable price.

Nuline developed the first reactive resin cover-stock technology with the Excalibur. Now the Gauntlet's Reactive Improved Performance (R.I.P.) cover stock combines the control of a proactive particle technology shell with the length of a reactive resin coven The result is more power coupled with more control, a sharp break point, and a greater angle of entry.

"At Nuline we are committed to keeping on the cutting edge of technology," says company spokesman Phil Cardinale. "With the Gauntlet, we hope to once again shift the paradigm by changing the rules by which cover-stock technology is measured."

The Gauntlet, which sports a modified four-piece design with a multidensity flip core, has a hook rating of 18 and a 76-78 hardness rating. Its R.I.P. cover stock is available in Sherwood Forest green.
