Prize Money Is Boosted for the 2001-02 Tour - Professional Bowlers Association - Brief Article

AS IF KNOWING THEY'D BE on ESPN during live coverage for every tour event wasn't enough, PBAers also got the good news that their prize money is receiving a significant boost come fall.

The total prize fund for the 2001-02 season is a 139% increase over the 2000-01 season, from $1.8 to $4.3 million. The increase allows the PBA to drastically improve prize money given to the top finishers as well as pay out to a larger number of participants in each tournament.

Here's the prize money for the 18 standard tournaments for 2001-02, as well as the Tournament of Champions and the PBA National Championship:
