Terrell dominates the WIBC Queens to win her second straight major - PWBA: WIBC Queens - Women's International Bowking Congress Queens tournament - Brief Article

Bowling Digest, August, 2002

In her first tournament since winning the 2001 U.S. Open, PWBA veteran Kim Terrell captured the WIBC Queens by defeating Kim Adler, 227-214, at AMF Bowlero Lanes. For her efforts, Terrell took home the $18,000 first prize.

Terrell credits her offseason work with a sports psychologist for her success. "In the past, I was very nervous on TV" she said. "I bowled with fear and made mistakes. I don't do that now."

Terrell qualified for the championship round as the tournament's No. I qualifier after setting the WIBC Queens match-play average record (240.7). Riding the momentum of five consecutive 700-plus match-play series, the three-time Robby Award winner marked in every frame in the finals (seven strikes and four spares).

Adler started her tilt with Terrell with back-to-back strikes. Following an open frame in the 3rd, Adler responded with a turkey to keep the bout close. Terrell matched Adler with consecutive strikes from the 5th to the 7th. After Terrell finished with a 227, Adler needed a double plus four pins to extend the finals to a second game, but a spare in the 10th forced her settle for second place and $12,000.
