Bowling Digest, August, 2003
THE PWBA AND BOWLING WEB SITE BowlersParadise.com came to a multiyear agreement that makes the new media company the tour's official online pro shop. Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
"This partnership provides the PWBA with a great promotional opportunity," says PWBA marketing director Jan Schmidt. "In addition to finding great bowling products at affordable prices, BowlersParadise.com shoppers are able to link to featured bios of PWBA athletes and key pages of PWBA.com, including the ESPN television schedule."
A key part of the agreement gives BowlersParadise.com an array of PWBA properties to help with its marketing initiatives, such as TV commercials, event signage, and exposure in future PWBA publications. In addition, a new feature called "BowlersParadise.com Ask the Pro" will be added to PWBA telecasts.
Using both the Internet and television broadcasts, the innovative segment will allow PWBA viewers to ask tour pros questions during the week of each national tournament. One question per week will be selected and answered during each broadcast. The viewer who has his or her question selected will receive a coupon or discount toward a purchase from BowlersParadise.com.
BowlersParadise.com went online in 1999 with a mission to transform the way bowling equipment is purchased. Along with a wide selection of products and great pricing, the company also offers expertise in ball drilling and resurfacing.
