BILL SPIGNER, WHO HAS produced "Bill Spigner's Bowling Clinic" for BOWLING DIGEST since the magazine was born in 1983, has been honored as one of 22 coaches worldwide to be certified as a Gold Level USA Bowling coach. Spigner was also one of the first Bronze Level and Silver Level USA Bowling coaches, and was a member of the task force that developed the plateau and course requirements for Gold Level coaching status. He has been a top-level coach for 20 years, having coached such notable pro bowlers as PBA Hall-of-Famer Mark Williams and PWBA star Kim Adler.
Beyond his work in BD, Spigner has been an instructor for Professional Bowling Camps, Professional Bowling Instruction, and Bowling This Month's Super School. He's a member of the Lake County Bowling Association's Hall of Fame, the New Haven, Conn., Hall of Fame, and the Illinois State Bowling Hall of Fame. He holds more than 18 county, state, and national ABC titles, in addition to his seven regional and three national PBA titles. He has bowled 23 perfect games (in 20 different centers) and averaged an Illinois-record 242.17 in 1987-88.
