What price victory? - The Fans Speak Out

Bowling Digest, Feb, 2002 by M.A. Greer

I was thoroughly disgusted and disheartened by the October 2001 issue of BOWLING DIGEST. It contained a lot of discussion about scoring, the "Best Bowlers," and the ABC Masters--and I say, "Enough already!"

Please tell me this: Since when is bowling about who is the "best" and less about having a good time with your friends? When everyone bowls to the best of their ability and doesn't worry about who is winning, the sport is fun.

Also: Please get rid of computerized scoring. It's a royal pain. I just retired in order to get away from computers.

Let's get back to fun bowling and small prizes that are awarded by the bowlers themselves.
