The Moss debate - The Fans Speak Out

Football Digest, July-August, 2003 by Ed Gransell

I want to say that I agree with the analysis that was given in the article "Welcome to the Big Time" [February 2003] regarding Randy Moss and his lack of leadership on the Minnesota Vikings offense. Randy Moss has more God-given talent than any receiver in the NFL It is true that he was named to the Pro Bowl last season, but he is lacking two elements that he will probably never have: heart and respect for the game of football. Mr. Moss plays when he wants to play and will not give 100% on every play. His antics off and on the field are sure signs that he is not respecting the game. If Randy played with as much heart and had the same respect for the game of football that, say, Donald Driver of the Green Bay Packers has, he would be untouchable.
