Hockey Digest, Jan, 2002 by Alan Grove
How can you say that Detroit is the best hockey city ["The Best of the Rest," December]? It may be called "Hockeytown" but that does not give it the right to be called the best city for hockey. In terms of hockey towns, Detroit is nothing compared to the dry of Toronto. I was in Toronto a few years ago for a game and I could not believe the atmosphere. Toronto has a hockey history that is only rivaled by another Canadian city, Montreal. The best way to experience Toronto is to visit the Hockey Hall of Fame during the day and then see the Maple Leafs play at night. It does not get any better.
