Where's Mario?

Hockey Digest, Jan-Feb, 2004

It's a joke not to have Mario Lemieux among your picks for the 10 most exciting players of all time ['That's Entertainment," December]. Have you ever seen any of Super Mario's highlights? Even at his age he continues to play at a high level. Gretzky never could have dreamed of playing at the same level at 38. He is by far the most amazing and talented player ever to strap on skates. If Lemieux had stayed healthy, we would all be saying good bye to a lot of the Great One's records.

In your article on "Dazzling Duos" [December], you failed to mention one of the best in NHL history: Mario Lemieux and Jaromir Jagr. Between the two of them, they have won 11 scoring titles, and I don't think either one of them would have been or has been quite as good without the other. All of the other duos you mentioned were great, but Lemieux and Jagr were unbelievable at putting the puck in the net and probably the most creative and fun to watch.
