Wilson deserved honor

Hockey Digest, Sept-Oct, 2004 by Sean M. Clifton

I've been reading HOCKEY DIGEST for a couple of months now. Sometimes I've agreed with your choices and sometimes I haven't, but until now, I've never been inspired to e-mail.

I don't think your choice for coach of the year is bad, for the reasons stated in the article ["Coach of the Year: Bob Hartley," August 2004], but I can't believe Ron Wilson of the San Jose Sharks didn't even get a mention. He turned a team that was 14th in the Pacific Division and 23rd overall in the NHL into a team that has earned more points than any other team in franchise history and was a serious contender for the Cup. And not even a mention? Come on, people.
