Fowling up - The Fans Speak Out

Soccer Digest, Feb-March, 2002 by Alex Ross

I can't believe that Liverpool and Robbie Fowler have parted. To many Reds fans, Fowler was the epitome of the new, brash, wildly talented Liverpool team.

Maybe Liverpool will now make a run at another expendable, star striker such as Manchester United's Dwight Yorke, but it simply will not be the same.

First Steve McManaman and now Fowler. I guess the "Spice Boys" lasted barely longer than the Spice Girls. (Of course, the "Boys" are much more worthwhile than their musical counterparts--and if you don't believe me, just ask David Beckham, who will find himself jealously watching Liverpool capture the Premiership this season.)
