Topic: RSS FeedXWF woes - The Fans Speak Out
Wrestling Digest, August, 2002 by Skip Van Natta
I want to comment on the XWF, Jimmy Hart's attempt to get a new wrestling organization started. The XWF was scheduled to appear in Austin, Texas, on April 26 and was doing a good job in promoting the event. I myself, anxious for my family to see the wrestlers we haven't seen in a while, went and bought six tickets in the first row, lower level, so the kids could be near the action.
For two weeks, all they could do is ask, "How soon are we going?" Finally on the day the event was supposed to happen, what do we see in the paper, but an announcement that the event was cancelled. No reason was given as to why, it just said it was cancelled and offered an apology for the inconvenience. I had to call the event center to find out that the reason it was cancelled was due to "soft ticket sales." If Hart wants to get this organization off the ground, he should keep all his obligations, regardless of sales. I had some very disappointed family members. As of right now, he may have lost any chance for this family to buy any more tickets to XWF events without the fear of another cancellation.
