Cruise Travel, July-August, 2003 by Wayne Hovermale, Kathryn Hovermale
In response to Audrey Klofta's letter "Big Beefs With Small Ships" (Cruise Travel, June 2003), regarding the review of Holland America's Prinsendam in the April issue.
The Prinsendam's Lower Promenade Deck has deck chairs on both port and starboard sides. As to the "narrow passageway--shared by your neighbor": Eliminating this would reduce the size (width) of the walk-in closet in each cabin; the narrow passageway could not provide enough space for two doors into the two cabins.
The Prinsendam is a beautiful and simply elegant addition to the Holland America fleet. We enjoyed a memorable 16-day Sydney-to-Auckland cruise. The service, food, entertainment, activities, and shore excursions were outstanding.
