Sailing the Sunbird worth your while - Letters

Cruise Travel, Sept-Oct, 2003 by Rex Lees

Regarding the letter from Reuben Fuller of Lizton, Indiana, about the Sunbird (Cruise Travel, August 2002): I have cruised on the Sunbird (formerly Song of America), and I have hooked another cruise on this ship. She is certainly looking well, and as for the service, it tops that of five-star ships. The crew could not do enough for you. She sails in the Med during the summer and comes over to the Caribbean for the winter, so I am certain that Americans can easily book on her.

Perhaps some of the other, more expensive lines could take a leaf out of her book. Another Cruise Travel letter-writer complained about ships" staffs being reluctant to enforce dress standards. On the Sunbird these are adhered to. One day at lunch, a gentleman tried to enter the dining room with a vest on. The restaurant manager took him to one side and mentioned that the dining room was not the place for a vest and suggested the Lido Care ondeck. Keep up the good work, Sun Cruises.
