Cruise Lines International Association has added Oceania Cruises to its roster of member lines. CLIA, a cruise-industry marketing and training association, now has 25 member lines, which together accommodate 95 percent of the North American cruise passengers.
Oceania Cruises was founded in 2002 by industry veterans Frank Del Rio and Joe Watters. The line sails two 684-passenger ships, Regatta and Insignia (formerly Renaissance R Class ships). The company's inaugural season features itineraries to the Mediterranean, Scandinavia, Central and South America, the Caribbean, and Panama Canal. More information about Oceania Cruises is available from your travel agent, by calling the line at 800-531-5658, or by logging on to www.OceaniaCruises.com.
In a separate announcement CLIA revealed its plans to more its headquarters to the former Maritime Exchange Building, at 80 Broad St., in New York City. CLIA expects the move to take place in mid September. CLIA's current offices are at 500 Fifth Ave./Suite 1407, New York, NY 10110.
