NCL expands New York market

Cruise Travel, Nov-Dec, 2004

NCL recently announced that it would further strengthen its commitment to New York by adding a second ship, the Norwegian Spirit, to join the Norwegian Dawn in 2005 sailing a year-round program from the Big Apple. Furthermore, NCL will deploy a summer ship, the Norwegian Crown, on seasonal sailings from New York to Bermuda.

After her summer season in Alaska and a monthlong drydock in October, the Norwegian Spirit will reposition to New York, where on November 17 she will begin a series of 10- and 11-day "Exotic Southern Caribbean" itineraries, taking over the Norwegian Dawn's extremely popular existing winter season. The Norwegian Dawn will then be deployed on a series of 10- and 11-day itineraries out of New York in the winter to the Eastern and Western Caribbean; she will continue her popular seven-day itinerary to Florida and the Bahamas the rest of the year.

The Norwegian Crown is set to sail every Sunday from May 22 through September 18 out of New York, offering her unique three-port/seven-day Bermuda itinerary, calling in St. George's, Hamilton, and King's Wharf. On September 18 she will sail on a special six-day cruise to Bermuda, calling in St. George's and Hamilton, to conclude her summer New York deployment.
