New generation freestylers - Letters

Cruise Travel, Jan-Feb, 2003 by Andi Nystrand

We are "new generation" cruisers. To us a cruise is a convenient mode of transportation to make the most of our vacation without the hassles. We enjoy the "freestyle" cruising and the launderettes.

As for the formal nights, we dress nicely, but no tux or gown, and I for one will not apologize to anyone for that. I'm going for dinner not a fashion show. I do not intend to drag a gown halfway around the world or be banished to the buffet just to make someone else happy for one night. I paid my cruise fare just like they did.

To the woman who feels "punks" are mining her cruise experience, look the other way. To the man who canceled his cruise, shame on you--you worked for it, go and enjoy. Life is too short to nit-pick at trivial things.
