The Delta Queen Steamboat Company is now booking a historic 43-night vacation along the waterways of America from Pittsburgh to St. Paul aboard the legendary Delta Queen. The "Heart Of America Discovery Tour" will traverse fully a third of the nation on the authentic paddlewheel steamer, traveling almost every mile of America's heartland river system during this unprecedented rendezvous with an important part of U.S. history.
Passengers may book the entire 43-night voyage as well as various individual segments or combinations of departures. From July 30 through September 11, the National Historic Landmark vessel will steam on nine waterways to eight major port cities (including Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, Nashville, Mobile, New Orleans, Memphis, St. Louis, and St. Paul), offering passengers 28 shore stops to explore the many quaint and historic towns that line the river. This is one extraordinary journey never before undertaken in DQSC's 113 years. The maiden voyage, fittingly, will cast off from the same city as did the first steamboat, Pittsburgh, and conclude in St. Paul.
