World Explorer Cruises recently announced that it has decided not to proceed with the joint venture with Silja Line to employ a replacement vessel from 2003 onward for its year-round program, including Alaska and potential around-the-world itineraries.
The Universe Explorer sailed her last cruise for the company in January. World Explorer Cruises intends to reorganize in 2003 and continue to seek alternative opportunities for a program in 2004.
