Renaissance Joins CLIA - Renaissance Cruises; Cruise Lines International Assocation - Brief Article

Cruise Travel, June, 2001

The Cruise Lines International Association has just added Renaissance Cruises to its roster of member lines. CLIA is a marketing and training organization representing 23 of the leading cruise lines that make up 95 percent of the cruise business marketed from North America; CLIA also has nearly 20,000 affiliated travel agencies.

Founded in 1989, Renaissance Cruises has a fleet of 10 ships, with a total of more than 5,700 berths. Each "R-Class" ship offers an intimate cruising experience, with a capacity of fewer than 700 passengers. Renaissance features itineraries to the South Pacific, Asia and the Far East, Australia and New Zealand, the Caribbean, South America, and Europe. Port calls include such exotic locations as Bora Bora, Venice, Bangkok, Seville, Yalta, and St. Petersburg.
