Cruise Travel, May-June, 2003 by Gail Harris
I was surprised over the concern about formal nights at sea. I've been on 18 cruises and never felt out of place because I didn't wear the "prom" clothes that so many wore. I did purchase an inexpensive sequined top and dress slacks that I wear only on cruises. Please, Mr. & Mrs. Lison (Letters, Cruise Travel, December 2002), don't stop cruising because of a few ill-mannered people. Neatness and self-confidence are all you need.
As far as shore excursions go, I learned a long time ago to take a cab. Most cab drivers are anxious to please and will take you to the same places--and more--for about half the price of the ship's tour offerings.
