Two-by-two on QM2

Cruise Travel, May-June, 2004 by David S. Gochman

I respectfully take issue with one minor part of Robert White's otherwise excellent, timely, and informative article "Solo Sailors" in the April 2004 Cruise Travel. The text and accompanying table indicate that Cunard Line's new Queen Mary 2 offers single cabins. Sadly, none of the brochures with deck plans that I've received of the QM2 show any single cabins. This is the first thing I look for in deck plans of a new ship (the second is a wrap-around promenade). I would be delighted to know if I'm wrong.

I've enjoyed Cruise Travel for many years and find it of enormous value. But it needs to check its facts from time to time. Moreover, I especially appreciate Mr. White's calling attention to issues facing those of us who cruise solo.

David S. Gochman, Louisville, KY Sad, but true: in her final configuration, the QM2 has no dedicated single cabins (see "New Ship Review: Queen Mary 2," pg. 16).
