Meet me in St. Louis - Resorting - Renaissance Grand Hotel - Brief Article

Travel America,  July-August, 2003

The 918-room Renaissance Grand Hotel is now open in St. Louis. The historic property, formerly known as the Statler Hotel, was built in 1917 and has been painstakingly restored to preserve its original architectural elements, including the lobby, three-story atrium, and two-story, rooftop Crystal Ballroom. Guest rooms are elegantly appointed and feature the deluxe "Renaissance bed" with feather-top pillow mattress and down duvets

Guests may enjoy breakfast, lunch, and dinner at Capri, a Mediterranean-style restaurant. Post & Son's offers contemporary French cuisine in an elegant setting (once the magnificent lobby of the Statler Hotel). Room service and a Starbucks coffee house are also available. Additional hotel amenities include an indoor pool and health club.

The Renaissance Grand and neighboring Renaissance St. Louis Suites Hotel are part of an urban revitalization project in the area surrounding the America's Center convention complex. The Gateway Arch; City Museum; Busch Stadium (home of the St. Louis Cardinals); Edward Jones Dome (home of the St. Louis Rams); and Laclede's Landing, a riverfront restaurant and entertainment complex, are all within walking distance.
