* NY Waterway Sightseeing Cruises offers several Hudson River Valley day trips from Manhattan. The "Lyndhurst Cruise" ($49) to Tarrytown features the Gothic Revival "castle" and gardens of railroad magnate/robber baron Jay Gould. The "Sleepy Hollow Cruise" ($46) visits Philipsburg Manor, a working Dutch Colonial farm in Sleepy Hollow, and Sunnyside, the Tarrytown riverfront home of Washington Irving, author of The Legend of Sleepy Hollow.
