Brewery Gulch Inn in Mendocino, California, was recently voted "California Inn of the Year" in a website survey sponsored by American Historic Inns guidebooks. Opened in 2001, the inn rests on a 10-acre hillside overlooking Mendo-cino's Smuggler's Cove. It is built of ancient virgin redwood timbers eco-salvaged from nearby Big River. Amenities include Craftsman-style architecture and decor, gourmet organic breakfast cuisine, ocean views, fireplaces, and private decks.
