Christmas magic entices visitors from miles around to Aztec, New Mexico. From November 26 to New Year's Eve, the annual Fantasy of Lights in Riverside Park presents light displays, some animated, that depict everything from cowboys to the Grinch. Horse carriage rides are available. On the night of December 10, the Festival de los Farolitos in downtown Aztec features rows of farolitos (small brown bags with sand and a candle inside), a parade, caroling by a choir, free hot chocolate and coffee, and a lighting display competition among homes and businesses.
