Looking for a romantic escape? Check out The Cliff House at Pikes Peak in scenic Manitou Springs, Colorado. The Cliff House is a member of Small Luxury Hotels of the World and offers such romantic touches as candlelit dinners in an atmosphere of Victorian opulence. Featuring spectacular views of the Rocky Mountains, accommodations range from studios with queen beds to celebrity suites named for dignitaries--such as Buffalo Bill and Theodore Roosevelt--who once stayed at The Cliff House. Rooms include terry-lined silk robes, bedside CD player, and Egyptian cotton linens. Suites feature spa tubs, steam showers, and gas fireplaces.
Built in 1873, The Cliff House at Pikes Peak is located at the base of Pikes Peak. The resort features Victorian charm, decor, and architecture with 21st century technology and service. Area attractions include Pikes Peak Cog Railway, Cave of the Winds, Garden of the Gods, and Manitou Cliff Dwellings. The resort is on the National Register of Historic Places and underwent a $10-million renovation in 1997.
