The $26-million Grand Harbor Resort & Waterpark has opened in Dubuque, Iowa. The indoor water park features a four-story-high treehouse (called the Huck Finn II), waterslides, inside/outside tube ride, rope ladders, water chutes, and water cannon. A lazy river, swimming pools, two hot tub whirlpools, and a giant bucket that dumps hundreds of gallons of water over the Huck Finn II every 10 minutes complete the family-oriented activities.
The seven-story, 194-room hotel also has an entertaining restaurant, casual water park cafe, and a large interactive arcade. Children ages 3 to 12 can join the WaterSquirts Kids Club at no charge for additional fun and educational experiences. Room rates (water park admission included) start at $99 per night.
