* Colorado's Royal Gorge Route Railroad, one of America's great scenic trains, runs along the rushing waters of the Arkansas River, traveling over the famous Hanging Bridge at a point where the canyon rim towers 1,000 feet above. The two-hour, 24-mile trips operate year-round from Canon City, 45 miles southwest of Colorado Springs.
