A comparative study of performance on a college student newspaper: foreign versus American students

College Student Journal, June, 2005 by Robert Stevenson, Kenneth Mufuka

The authors of this article also came to the conclusion that foreign students at Lander University were regarded as the cream of the crop rather than as average students. All the students in this study earned presidential scholarship on merit. One student went on to medical school having been admitted there before graduation as an exceptional student. More than half pursued graduate degrees. And all who attempted were able to secure jobs in careers relevant to their majors. The authors are aware of the fact that Lander University uses recruitment criteria well above that of the high school diploma for their foreign students.
