Vegetarian vacation resort opens in grenada

Vegetarian Journal, Jan-Feb, 2004

The Lodge, a Caribbean vegetarian and vegan resort, is taking reservations. Converted into an intimate guesthouse that accommodates up to six visitors, this classic Caribbean-style plantation now features a swimming pool, garden terrace, and wrap-around veranda with views of the Caribbean Sea.

Full board includes three meals per day, as well as pre-dinner cocktails. Past choices have included pumpkin and ginger soup, plantain cakes, tofu kebabs with bulgur and hot pepper sauce, cashew nut loaf, mango or coconut sorbet, and "Death by Chocolate" cake. Vegan organic red and white wines are also available.

For more information, visit The Lodge online at <www.thelodgegrenada.com>. Contact them at thelodge@caribsurf.com, call (473) 440-2330, or write P.O. Box 3540, St. George's, Grenada, West Indies.
