Not butchers nor bakers but great candletin makers
Vegetarian Journal, March-April, 2003
Mad Gab's of Maine, the natural body care line, has added Clean Candles to its family of products. These "Candles with a Conscience" come in four varieties: Geranium Grapefruit, Clove Almond Orange, Lavender, and Unscented. The products are made from natural soy wax and with cotton wicks, so they burn without emitting soot or lead. According to the company, they are a healthy alternative to the usual paraffin variety, which may give off chemicals when lit. In addition, they are said to burn longer than regular candles--a full 35 hours--and come in a recyclable travel tin.
Clean Candles are available at gift, beauty, outdoor, and natural products stores nationwide. Or contact Mad Gab's Inc., P.O. Box 426, Westbrook, ME 04098-0426. You can also call (800) LIP-LUBE (547-5823), or visit <www.madgabs.com>.
