The Department of Telecom scraps the license needed for using low-power equipment in the frequency band of 2.4 GHz to 2.48 GHz to boost wireless access technologies. The move will allow ISPs and telecoms carriers like BSNL, Reliance and Tata Telecom to offer wireless broadband services like Wi-Fi.
