Beijing: China's Ministry of Information Industry is prepared to guarantee no telephone tariff changes for the next few years in a move to sweeten the appeal of China Telecom's IPO. The move comes weeks after the MII grants local carriers freedom to set prices for the first time on a handful of services, such as SIM cards, roaming and other services for mobile carriers, and ISDN tariff and value-added services for fixed carriers.
The big ticket services such as mobile voice and IDD are still subject to close MII control.
